It seems that LT8 is over. But everything happened very quickly and there seems to be disagreement about the end of the game. Some players, including myself, were not online when it happened and don't understand the situation.
Pepeto notified me by email, that he won't be able to play LT8, so I replaced him with Yottael.
Today my father is visiting me, so depending on amount of vodka we will drink, I will start game tomorrow or later :).
This is a list of players who have subscribed to take over

So when will LT8 actually start? :)
One week has passed since the last LT8 poll was made, and I guess we have enough players? It would be nice to get some preliminary start date estimate...
Besides, the whole concept of penalties from receiving a tech is flawed in freeciv since the penalty is based on the tech you are researching and not the tech you are receiving. This just adds yet another annoying micro management aspect to the game.
My suggestion is that we change diplcost back to its default value of 0 just like conquercost and freecost.
Second option is to at least set diplcost, conquercost and freecost all to the same value. So that it would no longer be possible to avoid the penalty by conquering the same city again and again.
And unlike most polls on this site this one also has the option of completely ignoring the whole poll.
