LT14 team
Okay, I'm going to start up a team for LT14. This does not neccesarily mean that I will be the captain, but I'd just like to organize it.
I'm looking for a group of players who are willing to work as a team. Anyone interested should either post the following info either here, or email it to me.

Experience is just for others on the team to know how experienced you are, mostly it will be used to choose the captain. No specific level of experience is required, just an email address that will be checked regularly, and the willingness to listen and give input to the rest of the team.

Proposition rejected :). How can I know how many polls will fly in the air? If there will be no polls, game will start even earlier.
But if there will be more and more polls, or players will sign up/sign out, then it can be longer.

Or, sometimes I do game freezing, and all new polls are rejected because game is going to start.

There is no warclient for 2.1. The standard client is nice to look but useless for a real game. I guess it's the reason.

Sounds like that this could become a good bunch of ppl to play with :)
I definitely believe that "willingness to work as a team" is most important.
Fair few ppl are pretty stubborn and unwilling to change their style of play for the good of the team - I find that quite frustrating.
If I joint your team, I will come up with a 'best strategy' proposal for this particular game - I'll be happy to discuss/explain it and consider your feedback or proposals; but ultimately we have to agree on a coherent strategy as a team.
I'm willing to follow other strategy than mine if majority of players believe in it - and I expect the same from all team members.

Freeciv experience:
Shortturn 1.14 - I played it a lot and few times got very lucky and had beaten #1 players
shortturn now - I play occasionally + my ping is crap - I can't keep up with the best, I'm too slow in later stages and with warclient stuff
Longturn experience:
longturn - played 3 (as Evaghey), 4, 5, 11, XIII and now 13 (all under nick ste)
LT3 - not sure what happened to this game - I found a 960AD screenshot on which I'm 1st in population and production... ;)
LT4 - lost to... don't remember anymore
LT5 - I was winning before a Freeciv glitch (some buffer overflow) prevented me from logging in ;(
LT11 - we lost to Pablo's team after their brilliant spaceship victory (I had bad placement)
LTXIII - got eliminated early by Vonzgred's team (no excuses :)
LT13 - very lucky with placement and neighbours... and currently leading the chart ;)

No, it isn't the reason. LT13,LT14,LT15 is 2.0 - based line of game, LTXIII, LTXIV, LTXV is 2.1-based line of game.

Sounds great. I agree that coming up with a mutual plan is neccessary. So that's 4 of us (canuck101, det0r, ninecivfans and ste). Two more spots are available. As long as you're willing to work as a team and be active, then its first come, first serve.

Ok, I only have a modem connection for now, and I am not going to upload a 30Mb file with it. All I did was to download this;

and then compiled normally. I think it bumped once or twice on small errors (like missing #endif or something), I adjusted it an moved on.
If something is wrong, I still have the original tar, so I could upload it in the weekend when I have a faster connection.
Next week, by Wednesday, I will be back to modem connection.
BTW, this is a very fine program, there are some strange reports sometimes on the research tab but I think that is because of the teams setting (like in LT9).

I also have a compiled version of this client for Suse 11 (it may work on other systems) I can give you a link to that if you desire that
The 2.1 warclient has some problems when calculating trade routes for a large ammount of citys, so that may not work well for you.

I recommend using isotrident tileset over the 2.1 default one, as with the 2.1 warclient the tileset is slow, however if you want to use 2.1.6 w/o warclient, the 2.1 default tileset works great with it.

It seems there are 3 teams floating around. Team KIVI is all confirmed. Team Darkside is half confirmed. Team TopGun have not officially formed a team on the correct page or individually confirmed participation.
Can we get these teams confirmed (and any additional people who want to make a team - eg. Paff, Canuck101 and others) so that we can start the game. Other games (LTxiii, LT13) are advanced (if not about to finish relatively soon).

Hi all. We have full signup list. It's time to not waste time and start the game soon. - My last game LT13 crashed due to long long pre-start phase.
Maho, please determine the start. - determine the deadlines to sign up teams. The quality of the game is in your hands. It costed me much much effort to invite so much shortturn players. Please, do not frustrate them.
Notice, I have some other shortturn players able to play if some players will be not able to create teams.

Folks, please form teams. If there will be no teams formed until deadline (I think about 2 weeks), I will put unteamed players into 1-size teams (hopeless situation in team game), or start FFA game, depending on my mood in time of game start.
Note, that only one team is confirmed so far. Janq - I hope you know that your team can't be treated officially, as haven't been announced nor confirmed yet?
(btw: my team doesn't exists offically yet either, what a shame :( ).

Maho, the 2 weeks already flowed up and u did nothing. The pre-game phase is going to be too long. Hate that. The first subscribe has been done 2 months ago.
